8TH Annual Brain Tumor Awareness 5K Fun Run/Walk

On August 9, 2014, the Mary E. Smith Foundation, Inc. will host its 5th Annual Brain Tumor Awareness Fun Run/Walk for the South Suburban Chicago Metropolitan area. Proceeds raised at this event will be applied to one of our beneficial programs aimed at providing scholarships, funding research and providing health awareness in the community.

  • Our Story

    Mary Elizabeth Smith was diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumor on September 10, 2003 and 4 days later she made her transition. Her untimely death had a devastating affect on our entire family. We learned some valuable lessons along the way and began to truly understand what it means to appreciate the gift of life.
